A miracle happened by a caring doctor who refused to give up. Who is this doctor? His name is Dr. Adel Girgis of Busch Animal Hospital here in Tampa, Florida. A veterinarian doctor that never refused to see or call about, Sergio, my mother's pet Yorkie-Poo. My mother's name is Camille Chiricos, eighty-eight years old. I'm her daughter, Rose Weaver.

Sergio became ill rather quickly, refusing to eat or drink. Mom and I took him to a local animal hospital due to this emergency situation where they proceeded to do blood work. His blood was extremely bad. The prognosis was serious. He had renal failure. It was suggested that extreme measures be taken in treatment and that these measures would be costly without any guarantee of survival. Putting Sergio to sleep was another alternative. Mom stated that she couldn't afford the treatments. She became hysterical and I was overwhelmed with the whole situation. I was worried about Mom. I was worried about Sergio.

We called Dr. Girgis immediately,crying. We didn't know what to do under the circumstances. He stated, I want you to bring Sergio to me right away. When we reaehed his office he was waiting for us. us.
Sergio was limp. barely responding. Mom and I informed the doctor of all that preceded our visit to his office. She asked the dotor if he would put Sergio to sleep. She couldn't bare to see him in his condition any longer. Dr. Girgis stated, I want you to leave him with me for at least 3 days. If he doesn't respond to my treatment within this time period. he would honor my mother's wish.

We were so thankful to hear "HOPE" for Sergio. Mom and I prayed but so did Dr. Girgis and his wife. They both cared for Sergio, day and night, and kept us informed. The good news came on the third day when a voice filled with glee said "Rose, Sergio is responding. He is eating. drinking, and even playing." He and his wife bathed Sergio and the Dr. gave him a special diet to keep for the rest of his life. The doctor stated that Sergio should be just fine. Well, its been 3 months and Sergio and Mom are doing just fine. Both their lives have been extended due to the faith and ability of this one incredible human being who can see the love and pain of human beings but also in the pets he serves.
A special person who took the extra step to save a life.
